I have placed the 1990 Fritts paper on Boiga irregularis bites on Guam online here

Some of the bites did lead to blistering and discoloration lasting some days, but Stuart will be pleased to hear that there was no necrosis or permanent damage. I hope the same will transpire in your case.

Cheers,

WW

This has to be one of the worst documented B.dendrophila bite. I've been bitten by these buggers on numerous occasions but never had any serious symptoms (Of course they never held on for so long). Hope your hand gets well soon mate.

The swelling has disappeared now. What I'm left with now is discolouration on the upper surface of my thumb and an area of sloughing skin between the first and second knuckle with a small patch of what looks to be necrotic tissue just under 1cm in diameter in the centre. I'm treating it topically with antibiotic powder and applying seaweed alginate dressing to soak up any "gunk"

Ouch!! That looks painful! I have a large (~6.5 ft.) female B. d. melanota who can be very aggressive sometimes...because I treat her as I would any other venomous snake, I have managed to avoid being bitten by her in the 4 years I've had her, but looking at that bite, I'll be sure to take some "extra" caution! Thanks for the documentation!

Not to dig up an old thread, but do you happen to have any update pics? 100% back to normal? Also what gland in your armpit was swelling? Was it a lymph node? I have a 5 foot male that is quite reluctant to bite (unless antagonized). How long was it from the bite to the date that you were asymptomatic?
